Marji's Story

- Marjorie
Over the years I have been blessed in many ways, along with having some pretty heavy disappointments as well. I have always had a strong belief in God, and His closeness and love for me, even when I was making foolish mistakes in my life. The story I want to share is about a very special blessing I have just recently received.
When my son and his wife decided to adopt a child from Vietnam I was excited and pleased for them. Throughout all of the months of preliminaries, and there are many, I waited patiently for them to get their referral which would say that they would be getting their baby soon. The referral came in October and we all felt as though they would be traveling by Christmas time. That time came and went and I became a little nervous as to when, or if, they would be getting this darling little girl we had fallen in love with. Through it all I kept asking God to allow them to go and get this child -to allow her to live in a real family and not in an orphanage in Hanoi.
In March the bad news came: the child was not going to be allowed to be adopted and brought to her new home. We cried and tried to comfort each other to no avail. We waited for the Notice of Intention to Deny (NOID) to arrive as they had been told it would. I just kept lifting up the whole situation to Jesus; it just didn’t make sense to me that she would not become a part of this loving family. As long as the notice did not come I believed that God would work the necessary miracle and allow her to come. Finally, one morning an email arrived saying that they were cleared to travel! No mention of the Notice to Deny- just get your tickets and travel. I believed with all my heart that God would see them through and bring this child to her new home. And He did. She is here and we are all blessed by God’s tender loving care. -- Marji Edgar
