“Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

Our youth leader, along with parental help, plans a variety of activities for our youth: for fun, learning, service, socializing, and spiritual growth.  Our youth group is a growing and enthusiastic ministry at St. Andrew's.

In addition, we have lots of family fun events from movie nights, a New Year’s Eve party, day trips, and the time to socialize at events such as the annual chicken barbeque. Passing the peace is fellowship and “fun” at St. Andrew's.

“Let the children come to me, do not hinder them. For to such belongs the kingdom of God.”    (Mark 10: 14b)

Christian Education is available for all ages from nursery to high school.   Church School meets every Sunday from September through May. Classes begin at the conclusion of the 9:45 service and run until 12 noon.  There are some special events planned during the summer including Vacation Bible School. Several times during the year the classes meet together for special events such as readying for Holiday on the Avenue and the popular pretzel Sunday.  Adults meet each Sunday during the Church School hour in the lounge for Bible Study.

Vacation Bible School

This year's very successful Vacation Bible School, "Missions Around the World" was held July 24-26, 2008.

Activities included "visits" to Bolivia and Kenya where youngsters had fun participating in a safari, a scavenger hunt, and several crafts.  Kids prepared for their missionary travel by making “Passports”, flags of the countries visited, and decorated t-shirts or hats.

On the final day, children, teens and families made a field trip to the Auriesville Shrine, the site of early missionary work in the United States.  At the closing ceremonies, participation awards were presented during the 5:00 p.m. Mass.  A farewell dinner included foods prepared by the children from the countries “visited.”

Stay tuned for next year!
