Youth Group
Welcome to the Youth Ministry Page!
In October of 2006 God led me to St. Andrew’s with the intent of starting a Youth Group. It’s been done in fits and starts, but I think we’re making progress! We have a core group of between 5 – 8 kids, and we’ve spent time getting to know each other, playing games (including our first ever Y.G. Olympic Games), and working on our relationships with God. Parents, you will never know what an honor it has been, and how humbled I am that you have entrusted your kids to me for this adventure! Thank you all for your prayers and support.
In His service, Jeri

This Week's Forum:
I am so glad you reminded me Vicki! While at the Youth Rally at this year's diocesan convention I spent some time talking to the young men who are "Diagnosis Free"; they provided the worship music for the teens. They indicated a willingness to come and play with us. Let's talk further about this.
Hey teens! Give us your ideas of a fun night with some really rocking music! How about a dunking booth featuring Father Mike? rofl
Hi there- the summer is flying!!! We've been going to the 8:00 a lot, due to so many things going on. I agree with you Geri, that Christian music is a wonderful way to infuse your soul with nourishing energy!! Pulse radio is great - are there other stations out there? It would be really fun to organize a Christian music event at St. Andrew's. Would you want to do that together? See ya!
So what's everybody been doing?
We spent two weeks at Salisbury Beach; for those of you who don't know, it is the northern most beach in Massachusetts. We're about five miles south of Hampton Beach New Hampshire (ah ha, you say). The first week the weather was hot and sunny; we had rain the second week, but still had a few good days. I tell people that we're like lemmings, making our annual pilgrimage to the sea. Don't know what a lemming is? Google it!
Happy birthday to our summer-baby members: Lauren, Matt, Tyler... anyone else I've forgotten?
So tell me what's been going on with you!
Toby Mac is very cool; he opened for Third Day at the Palace Theater a few years ago (not the most recent Third Day concert). Toby was actually a founding member of the Christian rap group DC Talk. They recorded a few all time favorites of mine: "Jesus Freak" which is very hard rock in sound, and "Hey you, I'm into Jesus". Good choice! "Lose my soul" is terrific, and one of my daughter's favorite T.M. songs is "Don't know what you've got 'til it's gone".
check out Toby Mac especially a song that makes me soo happy every time I hear it. It's called lose my soul
I love all types of music, and Christian music is no different. It all depends on the mood I'm in at the moment. Stephen Curtis Chapman and Michael W. Smith are mellow, although MWS "Worship" CD is energizing in its call to us to worship God. Hard rock lovers will enjoy Kutless, Reliant K, Building 429, the Newsboys, and Audio Adreneline, to name a few. Audio A (as they're known to their fans) recorded the song that is the ring tone on my cell: "Big House". Very cool song... female artists like Rebecca St. James and Natalie Grant have different styles, however their love of the Lord is evident in their music as well as their lives. I also enjoy Michael Card (especially the Starkindler CD, very Celtic in its sound), and Chris Rice is amusing and also a favorite.
When it comes to all time number one favorites however, I am a die-hard Third Day Fan-atic! A real Gomer...go to the Third Day website, or better yet, the book of Hosea, to figure out what (or who) a Gomer is. Third Day is reminiscent of good old Southern rock. If you liked Marshall Tucker or even Lynyrd Skynyrd, you'll love Third Day. Awesome music, and their love of the Lord is so apparent in everything they do. They are great musicians and tremendous witnesses of God.
I am new to Christian Music, so which artists age good?
