We are the Only Outreach at this Event!
Join us this year on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009 from 4-7 PM!
| Each year, the Mohawk Avenue Merchants in the Village of Scotia host an event called "Holiday on the Avenue." This event is meant to celebrate the Christmas season, but if you stroll up and down the avenue, the only place you will find Jesus is at our booth. (One of the Churches does have music, but that is inside). Therefore each year, we hit the streets and attempt to bring the story of Jesus' birth to the public. Amazingly, there are many who do not know the real reason for Christmas! | |||

The Plan for 2009 Holiday on the Avenue
This year, we are going to expand our outreach. Once again we will have readings of the story from Luke's Gospel, but instead of a live nativity, we plan to display our antique nativity set. And, to advertise the readings, we will have a real Mary and Joseph travelling up and down the street passing out Christian trinkets.
For the kids, we will have a table set up where they can color their own angel ornament, and also display the "Greatest Gift Ever" box (which contains a lighted nativity set. We also plan to reach out to adults this year. At our tables, we will have 2 pamphlets about keeping Christmas, and we may also have a prayer table ministry. We will be doing the Christmas Cards for the troops again.
