St. Andrew's Vestry
The Vestry is the governing body that has the responsibility of overseeing all the affairs of the parish except for Scriptural matters. The Vestry is charged with making recommendations and decisions involving the operation of the Church within the guidelines established by the Canons of the Episcopal Church and the New York State Religious Corporation Act. Operational decisions include:
- Budget matters,
- Buildings and grounds, and
- Parish ministries.
The Vestry also acts as an advisory board to the parish clergy. Meetings are held once per month for 11 months (with no meeting during August). Additional meetings may be scheduled, if needed. Monthly meetings are usually held on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Parishioners are welcome to attend. Please check the monthly calendar for changes and additions.
The Vestry of St. Andrew’s is composed of two Wardens and nine Vestry members. The Wardens are elected for a two-year term and the Vestry members are elected for a three-year term. These elections are conducted during the annual Parish Meeting in January. One Warden and three Vestry members are elected every year. Click here for a listing of the current vestry membership.
