STEWARDSHIP

Did you ever imagine what you would do if you won the lottery? Well, start planning, because we already have. We won the human lottery. We are rich in fellowship, community, leadership and faith. When people walk through the doors of Saint Andrew’s they are always welcomed and made to feel as if they are already with friends. We need to continue the process; so that we can find others who wish to find the peace that we have found here and show them God’s abundant nature
Financial stewardship is based on the belief that God is the true owner of each person's possessions, and that one is accountable to God for the acceptable care and use of those possessions. Stewardship can also refer to Jesus Christ's accountability to God the Father for the Christians that have been entrusted to Him (1). I feel honored to be counted among those entrusted to Jesus.
I have a friend who does really great things at work and is rarely recognized for them. She was bemoaning her fate to me one day and said “wouldn’t it be nice if just once we all got what we deserved?” My response was, “no, I thank God every single day that I do not get what I deserve.” I am saved by the grace of God and I am grateful.
Jesus not only loves, but cherishes us. I know this every time I have the opportunity to look upon my children, or talk to one of my loved ones, or to visit with God as he pours his beauty out on to the earth. I see it in the sunlight and the rain and in all of Gods abundance to us.
My heart is also filled with gratitude for Saint Andrew’s which has been entrusted to us by God. That is why I give. We are accountable for our Christian Community here at Saint Andrew’s Church. I give to the church financially. I also give to the church spiritually, by attending and sharing my faith with others. Everything that I give is replaced by God in a glorious way. I have found peace in my soul, here at St. Andrew’s for the first time in my adult life. I don’t want anything to make the doors close here, so I am pledged to continue my support. In the years that I am broke, I will give less money and more time to the church and in years of abundance I will share.
If there is any encouragement in Christ, any solace in love, any participation in the Spirit, any compassion and mercy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, with the same love, united in heart, thinking one thing. Do nothing out of selfishness or out of vainglory; rather, humbly regard others as more important than yourselves, each looking out not for his own interests, but everyone for those of others.
Have among yourselves the same attitude that is also yours in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 2:1-5)
