In Luke, Chapter 9, verses 9 and 10, Jesus said:
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”
This is such a wonderful picture of what prayer is all about… going to Jesus, knocking on his door. He opens the door, we come into his Father’s ‘house’, finding what we are looking for. Then we talk with Jesus, and develop a relationship.
Think about it like this….how do we develop a relationship with someone?
- We talk to them
- We spend time with them
- We listen to them
- We appreciate them
We develop a relationship with God in the same way! Prayer is about having a relationship with God. We tend to think of prayer as something hard to do, but it really isn’t.
You too can have a relationship with God through prayer! Make a plan to start today!
